We ask you to please make a contribution to honor our friend and fellow engineer, Tony Dao. Tony was killed in a biking accident on February 4. Tony was a great student at WSU in the Aerospace Engineering Department earning his BS in 1989 and MS in 1991. He left WSU and went to NASA where he was designing exercise equipment for astronauts to use in zero gravity. He was a devoted Catholic and family man. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, and two sons, Matthew and Michael. To honor the great engineer, engineering student, WSU alum, friend, father, husband and man that he was we want to create something with his name in the College of Engineering at WSU. Boeing, Raytheon and Cessna, as many other companies, match donations so please check into this process with your company to maximize what we can do in Tony’s honor.

Once the contributions have been made a committee of his former AE classmates, Jeff Cooper, Jerome Pineda, David Pierce and Brenda Gile-Laflin, will determine by the sum of money collected which of the following to do:

  1. Award a scholarship in Tony’s name to an engineering student.
  2. Make a contribution to the Wallace Legacy Scholarship in Tony’s name.
  3. Purchase needed equipment for the college that will bear Tony’s name.

If you wish to submit a story about Tony to his memory book for his boys Matthew and Michael, email Jason Niebuhr at jason.niebuhr-1@nasa.gov.
